Works have started on phase II of an office refurbishment in Manchester. Successful completion of phase 1 allowed staff to be relocated to a new, larger, office and an increase in desk space from 55 desks to a maximum of 100, alongside several meeting rooms and a larger teapoint to cater for the growth.
Phase II has commenced with the strip-out of the existing office fit out, retaining parts of the Teapoint, reception and several meeting rooms. Retaining elements of an existing office interior is a typical difference between refurb and fit-out as well as moving staff in several phases.
Overall the program is 14 weeks from start with phase II finishing in 7 weeks. The combined space is 9000 sq feet, and refurbishment amounts to a cost of £27 per square foot (£290 per square metre) for the project. Included within this cost is additional furniture, re-configuration of sprinklers and fire alarms, and the upgrade of air conditioning, as well as all the typical refurbishment items such as partitions, flooring, decorating etc.
