Office Fit Out and design in Kingston
An Office fit-out in Kingston is completing early September. The refit works include a mix of CAT A type work with tenants CAT B office fit out, for a company that are both the freeholder and occupier. CAT A works included a full replacement of lighting with new flat-panel LED light fittings, and new Intercom. Some external doors and windows were replaced to improve the thermal efficiency of the ground floor and to make the entrance doors more prominent. 3 WCs were given a full update. CAT B works included new kitchens, some partition alterations, redecoration and new flooring and window blinds, as well as office furniture, data cabling and alterations to power outlets.
The build-out includes a design scheme to add some features including an unusual flooring layout using a woven vinyl and carpet border that lifts the whole space without being too dominant. A world map manifestation on some glass partitions is a nice feature making good use of natural light to help the map ‘glow’.
Office fit-out design
This Kingston office fit-out uses a base colour palette of grey tones. The desk tops are a pleasing honey oak with a nice grain and texture that all staff have remarked upon. Spot colour in the breakout space catches the eye. The grey tone colour scheme extends to the kitchens, which are enhanced by bright mugs set against the subtle worktop and cabinet finishes.
Updated Doors
One carry-over element from the base build are sapele mahogany doors reminiscent of the ’70s. These have been painted in a charcoal grey which instantly lifts all the common areas and partitioned rooms.
Including new furniture throughout the entire building, data networking cables, fully updated WCs and kitchens, and new entrance door and windows, the costs for the whole office refit in Kingston worked out at £52.00 per sq ft and took 10 weeks for practical completion including some design additions and revisions during the office fit out project. This cost includes the re-design itself and supply of furniture. HVAC was left largely in situ as it was all in good working condition.
