Office Fit Out For A CoWorking Space in London Kings Cross.

Images of the completed phase 1 for a new CoWorking Office fit out in London by Fusion. Argyle Works, located directly opposite Kings Cross and St Pancras in the bustling Kings Cross development area, is a great new co-working space. The design and fit-out project covers 2 floors, with space for well over 100 desks.

Argyle House is a late art-deco era office on Euston Road in need of life-support. Design development played a significant part in building the business model, helping to define the expected capacity in a CoWorking format that fed into the overall project budget. Careful space planning not only defined the capacity it also led the thinking on a balance between desks and support spaces such as the chill area, conference rooms and open-plan teapoint and touchdown zone.

      Co-Working Interior Design

The visual design is simple, pared-back, and contemporary in a building that has a distinct exterior. Use of strong, bold, matt black and grey is a form of monochrome neutral that leaves a lasting impression. The design for the feature areas has wonderful warm tones at the heart of the office creating a de-formalised style perfectly in keeping with modern office design and co-working interior design. Informal collaboration is a part of the co-working design approach designed to influence our ability to collaborate and work in different ways. Information exchange and communication are set alongside focused work settings without either jostling for control. Another co-working office design can be seen in our Case Studies

      Fast-Paced Office Fit Out

The fit-out project was a fast-paced 6 weeks taking the building from a distressed state and bringing it back to health and vibrant life. Unusual elements of this London fit-out include door locks that communicate with security systems to give occupiers and the building manager confidence in access control and security. The tightly controlled project budget managed to overcome a few challenges along the way. Exposed ductwork for ventilation adds to the de-formalised interior and was installed in a triple-team work-schedule alongside partitions and electrical services that is a tribute to cooperation and hands-on project management.

Phase two of the project adds a second floor coming on-line 6 weeks after phase one. An advantage of a phased approach to the fit out has been a brief period of market testing to see how the layout works with the co-working lettings enquiries.
